Health and wellbeing

 
Encouraging and Supporting Grassroots Activity Fund
This will see £170,000 awarded to groups and individuals across Scotland to run projects within their community supporting people affected by dementia. Applications should be submitted by 5pm on Friday 1 September.
 
The Three Guineas Trust
Considers proposals in the field of autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). Wherever possible, projects are preferred which include people with ASD in decision-making. Application forms can be requested via  proposals@sfct.org.uk – no closing date.
 
 Environmental

SUEZ Communities Trust - Scottish Landfill Communities Fund
Gives grants to make physical improvements to community leisure facilities and historic buildings / structures near a qualifying SITA UK waste processing location. The next closing date is 15 November 2023. 

LandTrust - Scottish Landfill Communities Fund
The Transmission Net Zero Fund aims to help vulnerable communities develop their net zero plans to ensure that no one is left behind on the Scotland’s journey to Net Zero. There are two stages to the application process. The first is submission of a pre-proposal form.

Scottish Zero Emission Bus Challenge Fund Phase 2 (ScotZEB2)
ScotZEB2 focuses on providing capital funding to organisations that contribute to making zero-emission vehicles the default choice for all bus, coach, and community transport operators. Expressions of interest can be registered via website and funding closes on 15 September.
 
Children, young people and families

Happy Days Children's Charity - Group Day Trips & Activity
Supports groups who work with young people with additional support needs to go on a group day trip or activity holiday. For example the seaside, a theme park, the theatre, outdoor activity centres, holiday camps and sailing breaks, particularly for groups of young people aged 3-17 years old with additional needs.
 
Sports, leisure, heritage and culture

The Rowan Boland Memorial Trust
The Trust provides junior sports people living in the Scottish Borders with assistance to enable them to further their sporting careers, whatever their chosen sport. The main aim of the Trust is to support enthusiastic youngsters, showing potential, to compete at Representative Level.

sportscotland - Coach Education Subsidy Funding
Coach education subsidy funding aims to support the development of coaches through financial subsidies of the cost of their development and the attainment of relevant qualifications to complement their skills. Individuals, groups and clubs can appl.

National Lottery Grants for Heritage
Grants for Heritage can fund projects that connect people and communities to the national, regional and local heritage of the UK.

The Pilgrim Trust – Preservation and Conservation Grants
Supports the preservation, conservation and repair of significant historic buildings, structures and architectural features. They also support the conservation of works of art, objects, records and collections. No closing date.
 
Financial support 

HMRC grant funding 2024 to 2027
The funds aimed at voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations to help them provide advice and support to customers who need extra help in understanding and complying with their tax obligations and claiming their entitlements, including those who are digitally excluded. Applications to be submitted by no later than 21 August.

Orcome Trust
Support to small charities or community groups in the Scottish Borders, particularly those operating in the Tweeddale area.

LNER - Customer and Community Investment Fund
The core themes the fund supports are mental health, education and employability skills amongst marginalised groups, diversity and inclusion, social mobility for vulnerable groups and environment and sustainable travel.
Applications should be submitted by 24 September.

UnLtd Awards
The programme provides specialist support for social entrepreneurs to help them grow as social leaders. They combine cash and coaching to help nurture ideas and grow impact. It doesn't matter what stage of development your social venture is at. It can be an idea on paper, or a social venture in practice already. Applications can be done online no later than 30 September.

Just Enterprise -  fully funded support for social enterprises
Just Enterprise have announced their new budget to enable social enterprises to access fully funded support. The funding can be used for a broad range of support from marketing strategies and financial forecasts, to business plans and a lot more.

Scottish Borders Funds

Blackhill Windfarm Community Fund Ltd
Grants will be made for applications that benefit people in the community by advancing community development by supporting local environmental, educational, amenity or other initiatives in the area. Funds applications that benefit the residents of the Community Council areas of Abbey St Bathans, Bonkyl & Preston, Duns, Gavinton, Fogo & Preston, and Lammermuir. Next deadline 31 October.

SSE - Toddleburn Community Investment Fund
SSE operates a 27-turbine wind farm at Toddleburn in the Scottish Borders. The fund contributes to the communities located around the wind farm in the Heriot, Oxton & Channelkirk and Parish of Stow Community Council areas. Deadline for submissions varies depending on community council areas.

The Hayward Sanderson Trust
The Trust supports a range of activities supporting people who live in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders. Apply in writing to the trustees: c/o Pike and Chapman, 36 Bank Street, Galashiels, Selkirkshire, TD1 1ER

Foundation Scotland - Greencoat Drone Hill Community Fund
The Drone Hill Community Fund is a charitable Fund to benefit residents of Reston & Auchencrow, Grantshouse, Coldingham and Cockburnspath Community Council areas. Deadline 10 September.

Tweed Forum - Fallago Environment Fund
Fallago Environment Fund is investing in local and regional projects right across the Scottish Borders, including areas that don’t have access to a local community benefit fund. Apply no later than 1 September.

SSE - Clyde Borders Community Fund
Supports projects that enhance quality of life for local residents; contribute to vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable communities; and promote community spirit and encourage community activity in the areas of Upper Tweed, Tweedsmuir & Skirling. Next deadline 23 October.
